titleOfInvention Organic thin film, production thereof and element utilizing said organic thin film
abstract PURPOSE: To immobilize an organic compound, biological related substance, etc., by forming an organic molecularly oriented film on a substrate using a technique for a Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) membrane and subjecting the membrane to a chemical modifying method. n CONSTITUTION: An organic substance having amphiphatic property of hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity is dissolved in a suitable organic solvent, e.g. benzene, chloroform, etc., and developed on the water surface. A surface pressure is then applied to form a molecularly oriented organic thin film on the interface between the aqueous solution and gas. A substrate is moved up and down perpendicularly to the surface of water and the organic substance on the water surface is removed to pull up the substrate in pulling up from the water. Alternatively, the substrate is lowered in parallel to the water surface and stopped when in contact with the organic substance on the water surface. The substrate is then gently raised to form an organic molecularly oriented film on the substrate so as to cover the surface with functional groups of the membrane. An organic compound, biological related substance, cell or microorganism having functional groups linking to the functional groups of the membrane is immobilized by a chemical modifying method. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
