titleOfInvention | Antimicrobial agent |
abstract | PURPOSE:To provide an antimicrobial agent containing 2-bromo-2-bro momethylglutaronitrile and dibromocyanoacetamide and/or 4,5-dich loro-1,2-dithiol-3-one and especially suitable for the mildew-proofing of industrial water for paper and pulp manufacture. CONSTITUTION:The objective antimicrobial agent capable of suppressing or controlling the generation of harmful microorganisms causing the lowering of productivity and quality of industrial products produced by using industrial water, e.g. water-based paint, etc., as well as the above-mentioned products can be produced by using (A) the compound of formula I (BGN) and (B) the compound of formula II (DBCA) and/or the compound of formula III (DCDT). The amount of DBCA and DCDT is 0.1-10pts.wt. each per 1pt.wt. of BGN. The agent exhibits extremely excellent antimicrobial effect which can never be expected from the property of each constituent component. It has remarkable effect against wide variety of harmful microorganisms such as molds, bacteria, yeasts, etc., irrespective of the kinds. |
