titleOfInvention | Production of modified hydrated colloid |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled colloid having excellent hydration property, water- retainability, solubility and transparency and useful for various uses, by culturing a specific microbial strain in a medium containing hydrated colloid having a stem structure consisting of a straight-chain polymer having 1,4-glycoside bond. n CONSTITUTION: A heat-resistant microbial strain selected from Bacillus subtilis, Enterobacter aerogenes, Leuconostoc mesenteroides and Irpex lacteus is inoculated in a medium which is an aqueous dispersion of hydrated colloid having a straight-chain such as β-1,4-Dmannopyranose as a stem structure and having, as its aglycon, β-D-galactopyranose unit or galactan straight chain bonded to the main chain at 1-6 site to form a branch. The microbial strain is subjected to primary culture at 57W60°C for about 10hr and then to secondary culture at about 38°C for about 7hr. The cultured product is dried to obtain a modified hydrated colloid having a viscosity of about 2,500cps as 1wt% aqueous solution and stable at 3W11pH. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
