titleOfInvention | Production of optically active glycidyl ether |
abstract | PURPOSE:To obtain the titled substance having high optical purity in high yield, by treating racemic dichloropropanol, etc., with a specific bacterial strain belonging to Pseudomonas genus in a medium and reacting the product successively with alkali, alcohol and alkali. CONSTITUTION:Racemic 2,3-dichloro(or dibromo)-L-propanol is treated with a bacterial strain belonging to Pseudomonas genus and capable of assimilating R-(+)-2,3-dichloro(or dibromo)-propanol [e.g. FERM P-7829 (FERM BP-994), etc.] or its cultured cell in a medium. The produced S-(-)-2,3-dichloro(or dibromo)-1-propanol is made to react with an alkali to obtain R-(-)-epichloro(or epibromo)hydrin, which is made to react with an alcohol in the presence of an acidic catalyst. The objective substance can be produced by reacting the resultant R-chloro(or bromo)hydrin ether with an alkali. |
