titleOfInvention | Production of pitch carbon fiber |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled fiber having improved strength and elongation while stabilizing handling of fragile precursor fiber and preventing fusion between fiber in infusibility treatment, by preproviding a precursor fiber bundle with specific fine particles and an alcohol. n CONSTITUTION: Firstly, a precursor fiber bundle of pitch carbon fiber is provided with (A) inorganic fine particles (preferably SiO 2 , etc.) selected from oxide and carbide of silicon, aluminum, titanium and boron and (B) an alcohol (preferably glycerin, etc.,) having 120W300°C boiling point and ≤10°C melting point preferably between a spinneret and a winder. Then, the fiber bundle is subjected to infusibility treatment and calcined to give the aimed fiber. Preferably the treatment A is dispersed into water, etc., and used as dispersion. In order to provide the bundle with the treatments A and B, a method to use a spray is preferable. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
