titleOfInvention | Production of testosterone |
abstract | PURPOSE: To economically and readily obtain testosterone capable of exhibiting useful physiological activity without requiring large-scale cultivation equipment and forming toxic substances as a by-product, by bringing a waste culture medium of a specific microorganism into contact with 4-androstene-3,17-dione. n CONSTITUTION: A buffer solution, e.g. calcium phosphate, etc., and water are added to 4-androstene-3,17-dione expressed by formula I and a waste culture medium of a microorganism belonging to the genus Pleurotus, e.g. a culture medium after collecting Pleurotus ostreatus Quel., etc., is added to adjust the pH to 5.0W11.5 and carry out reaction at 5W50°C for 5W50hr while shaking. The reaction solution is then centrifuged to to give a supernatant liquid, which is concentrated to dryness, purified by a method, e.g. silica gel chromatography, etc., to afford the aimed testosterone which is one of steroids capable of exhibiting useful physiological activity and expressed by formula II. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
