abstract PURPOSE:A hair cosmetic which prevents water volatilization of so-called damaged hair extremely injured by permanent wave, bleach, hair dye, etc., and provides the hair with preferable flexibility, obtained by blending a hair cosmetic with an extract extracted from Eriobotrya japonica Lindl. CONSTITUTION:A hair cosmetic such as shampoo, hair rinse, hair treatment, tonic, hair dressing agent, etc., is blended with (A) preferably 0.001-10wt% based on total amounts of cosmetic of extract extracted from Eriobotrya japonica Lindl. and preferably (B) 0.1-30wt% polyhydric alcohol to give a hair cosmetic which can suppress water volatilization from the hair and provide the damaged hair with preferable flexibility. The component A is obtained by extracting dried resin, leaf, flesh, seed or rhizome of Eriobotrya japonica Lindl. with water, a hydrophilic organic solvent, a water-containing hydrophilic organic solvent, etc.,by a conventional procedure.
