titleOfInvention Method for removing very small amount of sulfur compound contained in aromatic nitro compound by ozone treatment
abstract PURPOSE: To remove a very small amount of sulfur compound in a short time at a relatively low temperature without decomposing an aromatic nitro compound, by bringing the aromatic nitro compound containing a very small amount of sulfur compound into contact with ozone, oxidizing and decomposing and washing the oxidized and decomposed substance with alkali water to remove the sulfur compound. n CONSTITUTION: A very small amount of sulfur compound, especially thiophene derivative, contained in an aromatic nitro compound is oxidized and decomposed at a temperature a little higher than the melting point of the aromatic nitro compound by introducing ozonized air having 15W20mg/l concentration, usually 10W16mg/l ozone concentration by diffusing contact into a water-soluble or alkali water-soluble compound, the oxidized and decomposed compound is washed with weakly alkali water having ≥1wt% alkali concentration, especially thiophene derivative having high activity and high decomposing properties is removed and an aromatic nitro compound containing no sulfur compound normally advancing hydrogenating reduction with a novel metal catalyst is obtained. The amount of ozone brought into contact with the aromatic compound is 63l ozonized air having 12mg/l concentration based on 1,000g aromatic nitro compound containing 15ppm sulfur compound. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
