abstract | PURPOSE: To provide a polymer composite composed of a reinforcing polymer consisting of a polyazole having rod-like skeleton and a specific matrix polymer, having excellent heat-resistance and mechanical properties, and capable of realizing the compounding of the components in microscopic mixing level of molecular order. n CONSTITUTION: (A) A reinforcing polymer having an intrinsic viscosity of ≥5 and composed of a polyazole containing a rod-shaped azole skeleton of formula [X is S, O, etc.; (a) and (b) are bond forming azole ring or univalent hydrogen ring, etc.) is compounded with (B) a matrix polymer composed of a hardly crystallizable aromatic copolyamide having a glass transition temperature of ≥200°C, a flow-initiation temperature of ≤500°C, an apparent crystal size of ≤25Å after keeping at a temperature between the glass transition temperature and the flow-initiation temperature for an arbitrary period within 5hr, and an intrisic viscosity of ≥0.8.
