titleOfInvention Polyester film for thermal transfer recording material
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester film used as a substrate and improved in adhesion or releasability to an ink layer in a melt-type thermal transfer recording material, by a method wherein a polyolefin is oriented after being coated on the ink layer forming surface. CONSTITUTION:A polyester in a polyester film is preferably a polyethylene terephthalate having an ethylene phthalate 80mol% or more in its ingredients or a polyethylene naphthalate having an ethylene naphthalate 80mol% or more. A polyolefin capable of dissolving or dispersing in water for use is preferably used. To dissolve or disperse the polyolefin in water and to stabilized without cohesion, a method in which a so-called surfactant is used together can be employed, or an alternative in which the polyolefin is dispersed in the presence of a hydrophilic polymer such as a water-soluble polyester is effectively employed.
