titleOfInvention Production of steroid
abstract PURPOSE: To efficiently obtain a steroid as a synthetic intermediate for adrenocortical hormones in high yield in a small number of steps, by reacting a steroid having a specific partial structure with a silicon hydride compound in the presence of a rhodium catalyst, etc. n CONSTITUTION: A steroid having a partial structure expressed by formula I (R 1 is alkyl), preferably 3β-hydroxypregna-5,16-dien-2-one, pregna-4,16-dien-3,20- one or pregna-4,16-diene-3,11,20-trione, is reacted with a silicon hydride compound expressed by the formula HSiR 2 R 3 R 4 (R 2 WR 4 are alkyl), preferably triethylsilane or tripropylsilane, in a molar amount of preferably 1.1W1.3 times based on the steroid in the presence of a rhodium compound, preferably triphenylphosphinerhodium chloride, or nickel compound, e.g. nickel cyclooctadiene complex, in a catalytic amount to afford the aimed compound having the partial structure expressed by formula II. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
