(A) Morphology: shape and size, rod of (0.5- 0.6)muX(1.2-1.7)mu in size existing singly or 2-3 cells forming a link; polymor phism, none; locomotivity, positive; having peripheral flagellum; sporulation, forms spherical or oval spore of 0.4-0.6mu in diameter, etc.; Gram's staining, negative; acid-fastness, none; etc.; (B) physiological properties: reduction of sulfate, positive; denitration reaction, negative; MR test, negative; VP test, negative; formation of indole, negative; formation of H2S, negative; hydrolysis of starch, negative; etc. USE:An agent for asymmetric hydrolysis of dichlorovinylchrysanthemumic acid ethyl ester, etc. PREPARATION:The objective strain can be produced e.g. by culturing a soil collected at Takarazuka City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, in a medium containing dichlorovinylchrysanthemumic acid ethyl ester at 30 deg.C for 3 days under shaking.
