titleOfInvention Novel sulfur-containing acryl or methacrylamide derivative
abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula (R is H or methyl). n EXAMPLE: N-(2-Methylthioethyl)methacrylamide. n USE: The titled derivative itself is polymerized or copolymerized with an olefinic double bond-containing compound to give a polymer or an oligomer containing a sulfide bond in the side chain. They are useful in a wide field of high polymer material. n PREPARATION: 2-Methylthioethylamine is reacted with acrylic acid chloride or methacrylic acid chloride in a solvent such as dichloro-methane, etc., by the use of an aqueous solution of a dehydrochlorinating agent (e.g. sodium carbonate) to give a compound shown by the formula. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
