titleOfInvention Adhesive composition
abstract PURPOSE: To provide the titled compsn. which is low in the dependence of adhesion on vulcanization temp., has good resistance to fatigue by bonding and excellent adhesion and durability under high-temp. conditions and is suitable for use in bonding industrial fibrous materials, containing a rubbery vinylpyridine/styrene/butadiene terpolymer latex. n CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. (on a solid basis) rubbery vinylpyridine/styrene/ butadiene terpolymer latex having a Mooney viscosity (ML 1+4 100°C) of 15W80, obtd. by copolymerizing 5W20wt% vinylpyridine with 20W40wt% styrene and butadiene is blended with optionally 10W300pts.wt. at least one thermosetting resin capable of polymerizing such as a resorcinol/formaldehyde resin, etc. to obtain the titled compsn. 100pts.wt. industrial fibrous material such as rayon, vinylon, nylon, polyester, etc., is immersed in a soln. contg. 1W15pts.wt. said compsn., dried and heat-treated at 100W250°C or irradiated with electron beams, plasma to bond firmly it, thus obtaining a fibrous material for rubber reinforcement, which is suitable for use in tires, (conveyor) belts, holes, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
