titleOfInvention Flame-retardant resin composition
abstract PURPOSE:The titled composition having improved flame retardance and no resin drip in combustion, obtained by blending a polyphenylene ether resin with specific amounts of a styrenic resin copolymerized with a silane compound and a flame-retardant. CONSTITUTION:(A) 10-70pts.wt. polyphenylene ether [e.g. poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4- phenylene) ether, etc.], a homopolymer or copolymer consisting of a constituent unit shown by formula I and/or formula II (R1-R6 are 1-4C alkyl, etc., and R5 and R6 are not H at the same time) is blended with (B) 29-89pts.wt. styrenic resin copolymerized with a silane compound (e.g. gamma- methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane, etc.) and (C) 1-20pts.wt. flame-retardant (e.g. aromatic phosphoric ester) so that the amount of the copolymer component of the silane compound in the composition is 0.005-0.1wt%.
