titleOfInvention | Neutralizing agent for botulinus toxin |
abstract | PURPOSE: An inexpensive neutralizing agent for botulinus toxin, consisting of a heat-treated fatty globule film of animal milk or acidic glycolipid separated from the above-mentioned fatty globule film and more readily mass-producible than the conventional ganglioside derived from bovine brains. n CONSTITUTION: A neutralizing agent for botulinus toxin obtained by using a heat-treated fatty globule film of animal milk or acidic glycolipid separated from the above-mentioned fatty globule film. The fatty globule film can be produced from butter milk in a production process of butter as a raw material, specifically, by purifying butter milk or animal milk fraction having the similar composition purified by dialysis, fractionation with ammonium sulfate, etc., and heat-treating the resultant purified material at 62°C for ≥30min. The ganglioside in the neutralizing agent becomes a receptor for the botulinus toxin and neutralizes the above-mentioned toxin by bonding thereto. The agent is orally used or added to a washing solution for digestive tracts or food for use. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
