abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled polymer fiber having excellent dyeability with basic dye in high spinnability, by using a polyester blocked at a part of the terminal with a specific sulfonate compound, extruding the polyester in molten state through a spinneret in the form of filaments and taking up the filaments at an ultra-high speed. n CONSTITUTION: A polyester (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate) wherein at least a part of the terminals are blocked with a sulfonate compound of formula (A is ester-forming functional group; R is H, OH, alkyl or halogen; M is metal; n is 1 or 2) (e.g. sodium m-sulfobenzoate) is extruded in molten state through a spinneret in the form of filaments and taken up at a speed of ≥9,000m/min to obtain the objective fiber.
