PURPOSE: A central nervous system depressant that contain a uridine derivative, thus having excellent hypnotic action. n CONSTITUTION: The objective depressant is obtained by use of a compound of formula I (R 1 is H, halogen, lower alkyl; R 2 is H, lower alkyl; R 3 , R 4 and R 5 are H, lower alkyl). The compound of formula I is obtained by reaction of compound of formulas II such as uridine with another compound of formula III (X is halogen) such as benzyl bromide in the presence of a base such as anhydrous potassium carbonate in an inert solvent such as dimethylformamide at 5W150°C for 1W50hr. The dose for psychotropic, antianxiety, antiepileptic or muscle relaxant purposes is orally 25W50mg/60kg/time and for somnipathy 50W60mg/60kg. In case of forcible sleep in a specific psychiatric area, 1.2W20mg/kg is directly injected into the lateral ventricle. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
