titleOfInvention | Cyclic monensin monoacetate |
abstract | NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I. Description: white powder, molecular weight: 695, melting point: 182W184°C. n USE: An ion-electrode sensor for lithium ion. It shows high selectively to Li + . n PREPARATION: Monensin of formula II is combined with 2,2-dipyridyl-disulfide and triphenylphosphine and they are heated in anhydrous benzene to effect cyclization. Then, the resultant cyclic monensin of formula III is purified with silica gel and allowed to react with acetic anydride in pyridine under heating for a few days for acetylation. The reaction mixture is stirred together with a mixture of chloroform with saturated sodium bicarbonate aqueous solution. The chloroform layer is collected, concentrated to obtain the reaction product. Finally, the product is purified with a silica-gel column to give the objective compound. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
