titleOfInvention Internal reference liquid for calibration of electrode
abstract PURPOSE: To enable the simplification of the equipment and analysis sequence and the lowering of the amount of a reagent, by making an internal reference liquid commonly usable for the calibration of electrodes of an automatic analyzer which measures the density of a gas component and an ion component in blood simultaneously by the electrode method. n CONSTITUTION: This liquid is used for an analyzer which measures the densities of a gas component and an ion component in blood utilizing the electrode method and made up of a buffering agent adjusted to allow simultaneous calibration of electrode sensors for gas and ion and a neutral salt. In other words, a phosphate and bicarbonate as buffering agent composing the internal reference liquid shall contain cations to be measured. While securing a constant density as buffering liquid, the type and the density of each buffering agent is selected properly and prepared to match ion activity at two calibration points set near the average density of ions to be measured. If necessary, a proper neutral salt is added for the adjustment of anion activity. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
