titleOfInvention | (halomethylphenoxy)-acetonitrile and production thereof |
abstract | NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by the formula (X is Br or Cl; -CH 2 X is at the o- or p-position). n EXAMPLE: (4-Chloromethylphenoxy)-acetonitrile. n USE: A synthetic intermediate for agricultural chemicals and medicines. n PREPARATION: (Methylphenoxy)-acetonitrile is reacted with a halogenating agent in the presence of a metal masking agent, e.g. tetramethylurea, and radical initiator, e.g. light or benzoyl peroxide, in a solvent, e.g. carbon tetrachloride, etc., at 0W150°C to afford the aimed compound expressed by the formula. If the radical initiator is light, there is no particular limitation. If the radial initiator is an organic peroxide or azo compound, the amount thereof to be used is 0.001W20wt% based on the raw material and the addition rate of the halogenating agent to be used is 0.001W0.1mol/min based on 1mol raw material. The solvent is used in an amount of 1W50 times based on the weight of the raw material. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
