titleOfInvention | Production of tobias acid of high quality |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound useful as an intermediate for dyes, etc., in high quality without forming by-products nor adding secondary treatment, e.g. purification, etc., by constituting at least a member in contact with a reaction solution of Ti or a Ti alloy. n CONSTITUTION: At least a member in contact with a reaction solution is constituted of Ti or a Ti alloy to give tobias acid of high quality. For example, the tobias acid is obtained by reacting a salt of Armstrong's acid expressed by formula II with NH 3 in the presence of a catalyst in a reaction vessel according to the reaction formula to afford the aimed tobias acid expressed by formula I. In order to remarkably reduce the β-naphthylamine content in the tobias acid, the reducing effect of a titanium vessel containing Pd is particularly great in the case of a titanium or titanium alloy reaction vessel used. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
