abstract PURPOSE: To stir a culture fluid and feed oxygen without producing a shearing force or foams, by carrying out cultivation while blowing oxygen on the surface of the culture fluid. n CONSTITUTION: A stainless steel tube 6 having a germ-free filter 5 is inserted from above into a cultivation tank for carrying out liquid cultivation of cells and an air nozzle 7 is attached to the tip of the tube 6. The air nozzle 7 is provided at a position 0.1W300mm away from the surface of the culture fluid at 0W90°, preferably 5W80° angle to the liquid surface. A circular or flat stainless steel needle having 1W10mm 2 cross-sectional area is used as the nozzle 7 and a gas is preferably blown on the culture fluid surface at 1W20l/min flow rate by an air pump. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
