titleOfInvention Production of pyrroloquinolinequinone
abstract PURPOSE: To industrially and advantageously obtain the titled compound useful for medicines, etc., by cultivating a bacterium of the genus Methylophaga, having the ability to produce pyrroloquinolinequinone and capable of assimilating methanol, methylamine, etc., in a culture medium containing methanol, etc., as a main carbon source. n CONSTITUTION: A bacterium, belonging to the genus Methylophaga, having the ability to produce pyrroloquinolinequinone and capable of assimilating methanol and/or methylamine, e.g. Methylophaga marina (NCMB 2244), is cultivated in a culture medium containing methanol or methylamine as a main carbon source, and the aimed pyrroloquinolinequinone is separated and collected from the resultant culture fluid or cultivation supernatant liquid to give the aimed pyrroloquinolinequinone expressed by the formula. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
