titleOfInvention Production of acetaminophen using yeast fungus body
abstract PURPOSE: To specifically carry out p-hydroxylation reaction of acetanilide and efficiently and advantageously obtain acetaminophen useful as an antipyretic and analgesic agent, by cultivating a yeast in the presence of acetanilide. n CONSTITUTION: Acetanilide is added to a culture fluid obtained by transforming a yeast, e.g. Saccharomyces cerevisiae AH22 strain (ATCC38626), with a gene expression plasmid capable of expressing P-450MC gene in a yeast fungus body and cultivated, e.g. at 30°C by the shaking culture method, to carry out specifically p-hydroxylation reaction of the acetanilide and produce the aimed acetaminophen, which is then recovered. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
