titleOfInvention Aqueous solution containing stable scopolamine hydrobromide
abstract PURPOSE: To provide an aqueous solution containing scopolamine hydrobromide and having improved stability of the solution, by adding taurine under neutral pH condition. n CONSTITUTION: An aqueous solution of scopolamine hydrobromide is compounded with taurine and optionally glycerol or sorbitol at 5W6 pH. The stability of scopolamine hydrobromide is highly dependent upon the pH of its aqueous solution and is high at 3W4 pH. However, the stability, especially hydrolysis stability of scopolamine hydrobromide causes a problem when an aqueous solution of neutral pH (i.e. 5W6 pH) is to be prepared. The hydrolysis of scopolamine hydrobromide can be suppressed by the addition of taurine or taurine and glycerol, etc. The amount of taurine is preferably e.g. 0.02W0.2 M concentration. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
