abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound useful as a precursor for production of a tumor-relating antigen determinant group and N-glycolylneuraminic acid, by reacting a specific compound with glycolic acid in the presence of dicyclohexylcarbodiimide. n CONSTITUTION: The objective compound of formula III can be produced by reacting (A) methyl(methyl 5-amino-3,5-dideoxy-β-D-glycero-D-galacto-2- nonulopyranosi-de)onate of formula I with (B) a glycolic acid (preferably the compound of formula II) in the presence of dicyclohexylcarbodiimide and preferably in the copresence of N-hydroxy-5-norbornene-2,3-dicarboximide and N- ethylmorpholine preferably in pyridine or DMF solvent. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
