titleOfInvention Cosmetic
abstract PURPOSE:A cosmetic useful as milky lotion, toilet lotion, cram, pack, etc., free from side effects such as skin disorder, etc., obtained by blending a cosmetic base with glycogen which has improved properties as a humectant, is readily mass produced and inexpensive as a humectant. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic base is blended with about 0.01-5.0wt% glycogen which widely occurs in animal muscle, liver, etc., as stored polysaccharides and extracted from them to give a cosmetic effective for improving moisture retention of skin. Glycogen, for example, is obtained by extracting glycogen- containing animal tissue with cold water, concentrating the extracted solution, adding an alcohol to make 60-70% concentration, filtering off insoluble substances, further removing protein, decoloring with active carbon and insolubilizing with 60-70% alcohol into powder.
