titleOfInvention Detection of solution
abstract PURPOSE: To surely detect the presence or absence of a soln. by irradiating light in a specific wavelength region to a soln. having a light absorption effect to light having a specific wavelength and comparing the intensity level of the detected light with a reference level which is the threshold. n CONSTITUTION: The light component of the light absorption wavelength λ 0 by an OH group is absorbed by the soln. reaction of a battery soln. 2 during the discharge of a battery when the light emitted from a light source 1 transmits the soln. 2. The output voltage V p of a photodetector 4 in this stage decreases to a reference level voltage Vref or below and a low level output is generated from a comparator 6, by which the presence of the soln. 2 is detected. The light component of the wavelength λ 0 is not attenuated by the light absorption and the voltage V p of the element 4 in this stage is made higher than the voltage Vref unless the light emitted from the light source 1 passes the soln. 2. A high level is then generated from the comparator 6 and the absence of the soln. 2 is detected. Whether the level of the soln. 2 is above the prescribed level or not is, therefore, detected if the light from the light source 1 is transmitted through the soln. 2 so as to have directivity to a prescribed height position. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
