titleOfInvention Thermal recording material
abstract PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material having excellent preservability before thermal recording and giving a high developed color density on thermal recording, by providing a recording layer comprising a basic compound and a coupling component on a base by coating. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer comprising a basic compound and a coupling component is provided on a base by coating. When such a thermal recording material is heated, the coupling component is changed from a colorless state into a colored state. This change is utilized. The basic compound preferably has a solubility in water or not more than 4 and a melting point of 60-250 deg.C, and may be, for example, an organic ammonium salt, an organic amine, an amide, urea, thiourea or the like. The coupling component may be resorcinol, phloroglucinol, sodium 2,3-dihydroxynaphthalene-6-sulfonate or the like.
