abstract PURPOSE: To provide the titled coating agent containing N-vinyl-ε-caprolactam (NVC), having high rate of cure and giving a cured film having little lowering of Young's modulus at high temperature, low water-absorption and high hardness. n CONSTITUTION: The objective coating agent for optical glass fiber can be produced by compounding and reacting 5W50(wt)% NVC, 50W90% ethylenic unsaturated compound (e.g. hydrogenated dicyclopentadiene acrylate) and, if necessary, 0.1W10% photo-polymerization initiator (e.g. benzyl dimethyl ketal), 0W10% modification resin (e.g. polyurethane), 0W3% organic silicon compound (e.g. γ-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane) as an additive, 0W3% surfactant (e.g. silicone) and 0W1% polymerization inhibitor. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
