| abstract |
PURPOSE:A deodorant in oral cavity containing at least one maltol as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:A deodorant in oral cavity containing a maltol (3-hydroxy-2- lower alkyl-gamma-pyrone; e.g., 3-hydroxy-2-methyl-gamma-pyrone, etc.,) as an active ingredient and further preferably caramel. Use of the maltol together with caramel can provide sifficiently deodorizing effects even in low concentration of the maltol. A blending ratio of both the substances is preferably 3pts.wt. caramel based on 1pt.wt. maltol and the total amounts of both the substances to be added to a product is <=0.1wt%, preferably 0.05-0.08 wt% concentration. Caramel is obtained by heating surface or glucose and adding a small amount of alkali, alkali carbonate or mineral acid during the heating. |
