titleOfInvention Imidazolium salt type polycationic compound and production thereof
abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R1 is H, 1-17C alkyl or 6-8C aryl; R2 and R3 are H or 1-3C alkyl; X(-) is halide ion, hydroxide ion or 1/2(sulfate) ion; n is a number of 1-10,000; T1 and T2 are halogen or formula II]. EXAMPLE:A compound expressed by formula III. USE:A flocculant, paper strengthening agent, textile dyeability improver, softening finish for hair, antistaic agent, electrically conductive agent, raw material for electrically conductive high polymer compositions (radical complex salts of polycations), and raw material for medicines, e.g. antimicrobial agent, antifungal agent, cholesterol-lowering agent, etc., and ion exchange resins. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula IV is reacted with p-xylylene dichloride in a solvent capable of dissolving both while heating to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I. The above-mentioned compound expressed by formula I has good thermal stability and is capable of exhibiting good electric conductivity when applied to a radical anionic complex salt type electrically conductive high polymer composition of polycations without any skin irritancy.
