titleOfInvention Angiotensin i-converting enzyme inhibitor
abstract PURPOSE: To provide the titled inhibitor containing specific unsaturated fatty acid derivative or its salt extracted from JIKOPPI (root bark of Lycium chinense) and BAIMO (processed bulb of Fritillaria thumbergii) known as Chinese crude drugs, having low toxicity and excellent activity to inhibit angiotensin I-converting enzyme and useful for remedy of hypertension. n CONSTITUTION: An unsaturated fatty acid derivative of formula (R is H, lower alkylcarbonyl or aromatic carbonyl) or its salt is used as an angiotensin I- converting enzyme inhibitor. Concrete example of the compound of formula is 9-hydroxy-10,12-octadecadienoic acid. The compound of formula exhibits excellent action to inhibit angiotensin I-converting enzyme and is effective for remedy of hypertension. Dose: preferably 0.5W1.0g daily by oral administration and 50W300mg daily by parenteral administration. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
