titleOfInvention | Heat treatment of strip |
abstract | PURPOSE:To perform heat treatment of a strip without the uneven temp. for heating and cooling and without the deformation of the strip arising therefrom by bringing the strip into contact with a heating or cooling roll which has a specific outside diameter and roll shell thickness and in which a heat medium is passed. CONSTITUTION:The roll which has the roll outside diameter and roll shell thickness deltaR satisfying the relation expressed by the equation is used in the case of heating or cooling the strip by bringing the strip into contact with the heating or cooling roll in which the heat medium is passed. More specifically, the heat medium 2 is passed in the roll 1 and the strip 3 is wound around the outside peripheral face thereof. As a result, the own weight 2G1l1 of the roll, the weight 2G2l2 of the heat medium and the tension 2G3W of the strip act on the roll 1. Since both ends of the roll 1 are supported by bearings 4, said roll can be regarded as a simple beam. The max. bending stress sigma on the roll 1 is as expressed by the equation. |
