EXAMPLE:3-(1,3-Dithiethane-2-ylidene)-2,4-hexanedione. USE:A remedy for hepatopathy. PREPARATION:A base such as sodium hydroxide and carbon disulfide are allowed to act on a beta-diketone of formula II in a polar solvent to form a ketene mercaptide of formula III, which is allowed to react with a dihalogenomethane of formula IV at 0 deg.C to room temperature for 0.5-3hr to give the compound of formula I.
