titleOfInvention Ultraviolet ray absorber
abstract PURPOSE:The titled absorber, containing a furan derivtive as an active ingredient, capable of effectively absorbing ultraviolet rays within a long wavelength region, protecting the skin, preventing the aging promotion and used by blending with various cosmetic bases, etc., for preventing occurrence and exacerbation of liver-spot and ephelis. CONSTITUTION:An ultraviolet ray absorber containing a furan derivative expressed by the formula (R1 is H, methyl OH or methoxy; R2 is H or methyl; R3 is H or OH) as an active ingredient. In use, normally 0.01-20wt% particularly 0.5-10wt% above-mentioned furan derivative is preferably blended in the composition. The compound expressed by the formula which is the active ingredient is synthesized by subjecting furfural or a derivative thereof and acetophenone or a derivative to aldol condensation. The use of the above- mentioned active ingredient with various well-known long wavelength ultraviolet ray absorbers, medium wavelength ultraviolet ray absorbers, etc., is combination is more effective.
