titleOfInvention | Additive for water-slurried coal |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled additive capable of providing water-slurried coal having excellent long-term stability and flowability at a relatively high-temp. region and low water content., by blending a salt of an (alkyl) naphthalenesulfonic acid condensate with an adduct of a particular compd. with ethylene oxide. n CONSTITUTION: A salt (A) obtd. by neutralizing (alkyl)-naphthalenesulfonic acid condensate having a degree of sulfonation of 0.9 or more and an average degree of condensation of 10W18 with an alkali (e.g., alkali metal) (e.g., sodium salt of naphthalenesulfonic acid-formalin condensate) is blended with an ethylene oxide adduct (80W300mol) of a compd. (B) having active hydrogen, such as monohydric alcohols, secondary amines, monoalkylated amides, monohydric phenols, monocarboxylic acids, mercaptan, and their derivatives in a weight ratio of 95W20/5W80 in a usual temp. region and 85W60/15W40 in a high-temp. region (≥50°C) to obtain the titled additive. The additive is added in an amt. of 3W0.01wt% based on coal to a water slurry of pulverized coal having such a particle size distribution that about 80% of the particles passes through a 200-mesh sieve. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
