titleOfInvention Pharmaceutical composition containing imidazolidinetrione drivative
abstract PURPOSE: The titled highly safe composition, containing an imidazolidinetrione derivative as an active constituent, having hypoglycemic action, returning an abnormal blood sugar value to a normal value without causing excess decrease of blood sugar and further exhibiting hypolipemic action. n CONSTITUTION: A composition containing at least one of an imidazolidinetrione derivative expressed by formula I (R 1 and R 2 are respectively the same or different H, alkyl, cycloalkyl or formula II; R 3 and R 4 are H, halogen, nitro, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy) and a salt thereof as an active constituent. In use, the derivative or salt thereof is combined with a suitable carrier or diluent for medicines to form a pharmaceutical, which is then orally or parenterally administered. The compound expressed by formula I includes both novel and well-known compounds and is synthesized by stirring, e.g. oxalyl chloride with an N-substituted urea in a suitable solvent while cooling with ice W at room temperature. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
