titleOfInvention High-molecular porous material
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a high-molecular porous material excellent in an absorption rate of water and useful as a base material for artificial organs, separative resins, etc., by insolubilizing a homopolymer of a specified compound, a copolymer of such compounds or its copolymer with another copolymerizable monomer in water and freeze-drying it. n CONSTITUTION: A homo- or co-polymer of (a) N-alkyl or N-alkylene-substituted (meth)acrylamide(s) of formula I or II [wherein R 1 is H or methyl, R 2 is H, methyl or ethyl, R 3 is methyl, ethyl or propyl and A is a group of formula III (wherein in is 4W6) or a group of formula IV] or its copolymer with another copolymerizable monomer (e.g., acrylamide) is mixed with a crosslinking monomer and a polymerization initiator (e.g., H 2 O 2 ) and the obtained mixture is polymerized to obtain a water-insoluble polymer. This polymer is contacted with ion-exchanged water for several min to 21 days to obtain hydrogel of a water content of 50W99wt%. This hydrogel is freeze-dried at 0°C or below and vacuum-dried in a vacuum degree of about 10mmHg to obtain a high- molecular porous material of a pore diameter of 0.05W20μ. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
