abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled polymer which can give an excellent antistatic film, by performing either of the following polymerization processes in the presence of a crosslinking monomer in the polymerization of vinyl chloride in the presence of a polymer obtained by polymerizing an alkyl acrylate with a hydrophilic monomer. n CONSTITUTION: An alkyl acrylate monomer (e.g., n-butyl acrylate) is polymerized with a hydrophilic monomer (e.g., acrylic acid) in an aqueous medium. A vinyl chloride monomer is polymerized in an aqueous medium in the presence of the obtained polymer and, at the same time, at least either one of the polymerization processes is performed in the presence of a crosslinking monomer (e.g., tetraethylene glycol dimethacrylate). In this way, a crosslinked vinyl chloride copolymer which has 0.1W2meg/g of hydrophilic groups, a lowest film-forming temperature ≤20°C and a modulus ≥75kg/cm 2 and easily forms a film of an excellent antistatic effect. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
