titleOfInvention N,n-disubstituted phenylserine derivative and agent for central nervous system containing said compound as active component
abstract NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R 1 is lower alkyl; R 2 is lower alkyl or aralkyl; R 3 is H or lower alkyl). n EXAMPLE: N,N-dimethyl-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)serine. n USE: A remedy for central nervous diseases. It exhibits suppressive effect against the lowering of body temperature and blepharoptosis caused by recerpine and is useful as a remedy for depression, parkinson's disease, senile dementia, etc. n PREPARATION: The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting the compound of formula II (R a is protective group of aromatic hydroxyl group) with the carbonyl compound of formula III (R b and R c are H, lower alkyl, etc.) in a solvent such as methanol, treating the reaction product with a reducing agent such as sodium cyanoborohydride and deprotecting the resultant N,N- disubstituted-phenylserine derivative of formula IV. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
