| abstract | PURPOSE:To produce a low-cost bathing agent effective in promoting the dissolution of calcium carbonate by synergistic effect, improving the blood flow and eliminating the environmental pollution caused by discarded oyster shell, by adding a specific amount of KANPIMATSU (powdered peel of Citrus unshu) to powdered shell composed mainly of oyster shell and putting one dose of the mixture into a bag. CONSTITUTION:Shell powder composed mainly of oyster shell is mixed with 5-25% KANPIMATSU and one dose of the mixture is put into a cloth bag to obtain the objective bathing agent. When the agent is dipped in hot water in a bathtub, carbonic acid is generated from the oyster shell to effect the dissolution of CaCO3. The carbonic acid in the KANPIMATSU further accelerates the CaCO3 dissolution. CaCO3 is dissolved while forming calcium bicarbonate and exhibits the effects to moderately promote the blood flow and prevent the chill feeling after bath. The addition of KANPIMATSU imparts aromatic smell to the agent, gives synergistic effect of the volatile component of essential oil and the hot water and promotes the metabolism. The oyster shell which has been hitherto discarded after collecting oyster meat can be effectively utilized to solve the environmental pollution caused by waste oyster shell. |
