titleOfInvention | Production of nitro-substituted diphenyl ether |
abstract | PURPOSE: To readily obtain the titled compound useful as an intermediate for various compounds, by reacting a dinitrobenzene with a phenol in the presence of an acid acceptor together with an aprotic polar solvent. n CONSTITUTION: A dinitrobenzene, e.g. p-dinitrobenzene or o-dinitrobenzene, is reacted with a phenol, e.g. phenol or p-cresol, in the presence of an acid acceptor together with an aprotic polar solvent, e.g. DMF or DMSO, to afford a nitro-substituted diphenyl ether. The reaction is carried out normally at room temperature W 250°C under ordinary pressure or higher pressure, more preferably at 50W150°C under ordinary pressure. The nitro-substituted diphenyl ether is useful for producing an amino group-substituted diphenyl ether particularly useful as an intermediate raw material for dyes, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
