titleOfInvention Production of mildiomycin and mildiomycin-producing microorganism
abstract PURPOSE: To produce a large amount of mildiomycin in high efficiency on an industrial scale, by culturing a mildiomycin-producing microbial strain belonging to Streptoverticillium genus in a medium containing N-methyl compound, etc. n CONSTITUTION: A mildiomycin-producing strain is converted to be resistant to serine hydroxamate or canavanine to obtain Streptomyces liquefaciens strain having improved mildiomycin-productivity and the following properties. Morphology, forms aerial mycelium; spore, oviform or cylindrical; growth temperature, 15W38°C; inert to liquefaction of gelatin; assimilates inositol and does not assimilate erythritol; etc. The strain is cultured in a medium containing a carbon source, a nitrogen source, etc., and, if necessary, ≥3mM of an N-methylated compound having a molecular weight of 50W1,000 or 0.1W1.0wt% 5- hydroxymethylcytosine at 15W40°C for 4W14 days under slightly alkaline condition in an aerated deep tank fermentor to obtain mildiomycin. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
