titleOfInvention Production of aromatic poly(thio)ether ketone
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled polymer having high polymerization degree under a mild condition, by reacting an aromatic (thio)ether with phosgene in the presence of a Lewis acid in an aprotic organic solvent in such a way that chemical shift of phosgene is carried out under a specific condition. n CONSTITUTION: (A) An aromatic (thio)ether (e.g., diphenylether, etc.,) shown by the formula (R 1 WR 12 are H, halogen, hydrocarbon, etc.,; X is direct bond, O or S; l is 0W5) are dissolved in 1W500pts.wt. based on the ether of (B) an aprotic organic solvent (e.g., methylene chloride, etc.,), then blended with 0.01W100mol based on 1mol component A of (C) a Lewis acid (e.g., aluminum chloride, etc.,) and (D) phosgene is introduced to the mixture preferably at ≤-10°C. In the operation, the reaction is carried out in a condition wherein difference (δ 2 -δ 1 ) (δ 2 is value when components B, C and D are mixed; δ 1 is value when components B and D are mixed) of chemical shift of two kinds of 13 C-NMR of phosgene is 6W20ppm, to give the aimed polymer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
