PURPOSE:To provide a raw material of cosmetic composed of a mixture of galla rhois, etc., and ferric chloride at a specific ratio, capable of dyeing the scalp to natural hair color and camouflaging thin hair with the dyed scalp and useful for the makeup of head. CONSTITUTION:The objective cosmetic raw material is a mixture of (A) 85-95 pts.wt. of tannic acid or extract of galla rhois or galla halepensis used widely as an astringent raw material of crude drug or Chinese herb drug and free from toxicity and side effect and (B) 15-5pts. of ferric chloride. The blue-black pigment produced by the chelating reaction of the mixture has excellent characteristics such as color tone, dyeability, cosmetic action (especially astringency), etc. The raw material is dissolved or suspended in water or ethanol and applied to the scalp to apply cosmetic effect of the head. The raw material may be compounded to a hair tonic or hair conditioner to enable the dyeing of the scalp simultaneous to the prevention of falling off of hair, promotion of hair growth, prevention of dandruff, acidification of scalp, supply of oil and nutrient to the hair, etc., attained by the application of the hair tonic, etc. |
