abstract NEW MATERIAL:A pyrazole derivative expressed by formula I [R is H or 1W3C alkyl; X is 1W4C alkyl, cyclohexyl or formula II (X' is halogen or 1W4C alkyl; n is 0, 1 or 2); Y is H or COR' (R' is 1W5C alkyl, cycloalkyl, 1W3C alkoxyl or 1W3C alkylthio]. n EXAMPLE: 4-(3,4-Dichlorophenylthiobenzoyl)-5-hydroxy-1,3-dimethyl-pyrazole. n USE: An insecticide and acaricide, capable of exhibiting remarkable effect particularly on chemical-resistant green rice leafhopper, diamondback moth, citrus red mite and two-spotted spider mite and effective also against sanitary injurious insects, e.g. flies, mosquitoes, cockroaches, etc., and agricultural and horticultural blights, e.g. downy mildew, late blight, sclerotinia rot, etc. n PREPARATION: A compound expressed by formula III is reacted with a com pound expressed by formula IV in the presence of a base, e.g. potassium carbon ate, in a solvent, e.g. dioxane, to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula V in formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
