titleOfInvention Antistatic paint
abstract PURPOSE: To provide a paint which gives a coating film having excellent antistatic properties and durability, containing a hydroxyl group-contg. resin binder and an electrically conductive scaly powder mainly composed of tin oxide. n CONSTITUTION: An antistatic paint contains 100pts.wt. hydroxyl group-contg. resin binder (e.g. a saponified copolymer composed of 70W98mol% of vinyl chloride, 2W30mol% of vinyl acetate and 0W18mol% of other copolymerizable monomer) and 60W300pts.wt. electrically conductive scaly powder having a diameter of 0.5W50μ and a thickness of 1μ or below, mainly composed of tin oxide. The conductive powder is uniformly dispersed with good adhesion and its coating film is highly flexible and has excellent antistatic properties and adhesion to non- rigid synthetic resin films. The conductive powder hardly drops out of the film even when its surface is rubbed. Further, a coating film having a light tone and good gloss can be formed without limiting color to a dark color. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1986,JPO&Japio
