PURPOSE:A hair cosmetic that contains, as an essential component, a dried powder or extract of carrot foliage, thus stimulating surface layers of skins to activate skin cells, thus accelerating hair nourishing, hair growth and depilation inhibition. CONSTITUTION:Foliage of carrot is dried and crushed. The crushed product can be used as an active ingredient. The crushed product is extracted with a lower aliphatic alcohol such as methanol or water at 60-90 deg.C under reflux for 30-80min. The extract is filtered, the filtrate is concentrated under normal or reduced pressure, until the concentration reaches about 30%. The concentrate may be used as such or dried to a pale green powder under reduced pressure. They are low in concentration, but it can be used as such. Or it is purified using n-hexane-water to give a dried powder of high purity. EFFECT:When it is applied for a long period of time, the hair-tonic effect will be remarkable. |
